Inline skating in the summer

During the summer holidays, the Olympiaworld Innsbruck opens its doors for inline skating on warm summer evenings.  Every Friday and Saturday it is now possible to really let it roll on the speed skating oval with free admission.

The Olympic outdoor ice ring is well-known to Tyrolean winter sports enthusiasts - up to 50,000 people skate in circles on the ice here every season.  Being able to use the area with inline skates is new - and is offered free of charge until the end of the summer holidays. Every Friday from 1900 to 2200 and every Saturday from 1200 to 2200 the area is available to sports enthusiasts of all ages.

With the offer, managing director Matthias Schipflinger is reacting to the recent positive experiences with the Happy Nightskate - since this year the loop has led through the Olympiaworld, where the skaters are provided with refreshing drinks. “We have received very positive feedback since the first appointment regarding the suitability of the area for skating and hanging out,” says Schipflinger. “This encouraged us to give our guests the opportunity to use the Olympiaworld sports facilities free of charge, even on weekends.”

The offer is initially valid until the first weekend in September. The last weekend in July (July 26th & 27th) and the first weekend in August (August 2nd & 3rd) are currently excluded, when the Olympiaworld is not available for inline skating due to events.

- Olympiaworld outdoor area (outer ice ring) >> Access via the TIWAG Arena (main entrance/porter)
- Use the area at your own risk! We recommend wearing protective equipment!
