Energy & Water

Energy efficiency and the responsible use of resources are our top priorities. As an energy-intensive company, responsible resource management is not only essential from an economic perspective but also a key commitment to protecting our environment. When constructing and renovating buildings, the use of renewable energy sources plays a central role. Across our venues, we have switched to energy-efficient LED lighting systems and water-saving fixtures. The high water consumption required for ice production is partially compensated by our own rainwater storage tanks.

Measures in the area of energy & water:

• Use of 100% renewable electricity from the public power grid
• Installation of photovoltaic systems in new buildings (e.g. American Football Zentrum) and renovation projects (Landessportzentrum)
• Planned expansion of photovoltaic systems at Tivoli Stadium and TIWAG Arena (approx. 7,500 m²)
• Conversion to LED lighting at Olympiahalle, TIWAG Arena, Tivoli Stadium Tirol including underground parking, skate hall and athletics hall
  → Saving approximately 60,000 kWh per year while simultaneously reducing maintenance and operating costs
• Use of rainwater through five storage tanks for ice production
  → Saving approximately 5,000 m³ of drinking water per year
• Water-saving fixtures in all employee and event areas
• Development of resource accounting and CO₂ balance currently in progress
